The screws on the switch are a little loose, so it's recommended to incorporate it into the loop of your effects board when using it. It works without any problems. I created the layout myself from a circuit diagram I found on a foreign website. It's made with point-to-point wiring, not a printed circuit board. The op-amp uses the rare OPA2134, the same as the original (expensive... so the price reflects that). The enclosure is unpainted aluminum. The original has two DIP switches on the board, but this product allows you to switch between both on/off with a toggle switch. - On (toggle ↑) increases the compression and distortion (this is like a normal overdrive), and off (toggle ↓) reduces the distortion and slightly increases the volume. As for the sound, it's like a combination of a TS and a JanRay... the mids are stronger than a JanRay.
