This is a modified guitar based on a FERNANDES Mockingbird MG80X, aiming to replicate the MG480X specifications used by the artist. Please read the entire description before purchasing. This is an early model mahogany body MG80X, modified to a through-neck (technically a set-neck with a heel-less modification). After gluing the body and neck, dowels were inserted into the screw holes to act as supports. The strength is sufficient, but there are some areas where the sanding is not perfect. High-position playability is excellent. The cavity has been expanded to accommodate the addition of a tap switch. When the heel-less modification area was painted black, the body's dents were also repaired at the same time. After that, psychedelic paint was applied and clear coated. The psychedelic paint's color was adjusted based on the artist's guitar photographed in a museum. It should be a closer finish than at least the 165X, etc. The neck has had the binding's discoloration removed, and the fingerboard side has been roll-off processed. This is not a reproduction, but a personal preference, and it significantly improves the playing feel. The frets have also been cleaned. The rear pickup is an EMG 81. It's an old logo model from before the connector type. (Probably the same type that HIDE himself used) The front pickup is a FLEOR made pickup, which appears to be a copy of the Dimarzio DP100. Coil tap wiring is complete. To replicate the paint peeling from the artist's use, the paint was sanded off after application to give it a used feel. The tuners, saddle, and tailpiece are the original Gotoh parts. The controls are a 3-way selector, master volume, direct switch, and front coil tap switch. Same specifications as the original. The truss rod has room on both sides, and the frets have 70-80% life remaining. There are string marks on the low frets. Currently, it is stable with 09-42 strings and a string height of about 1mm at the 12th fret. I believe the playability, tone, and appearance are at a sufficient level, but it is a custom-made product based on an inexpensive model. There are also minor scratches and dents from when it was acquired. Please understand that it is not a perfect finish like the original.
