This is a "variable cotton ro" Chikusen washable summer kimono, a high-quality yukata with basting threads, designed to help you enjoy summer events such as festivals, fireworks displays, Bon Odori dances, and beer gardens. It features a cool, breathable cotton fabric with a sheer ro weave that allows the wind to pass through, and a lucky insect that appears to be bringing wonderful events, showing its fluttering wings. The design includes water plants that the insect chases, and when you look closely at the water plants, they become the shadow of the insect, creating a dynamic and eye-catching scene that touches the heartstrings. This is a "brand new" finished product with basting threads, worn once for photography. The first generation was founded in the late Edo period, during the Tenpo era, by "Chikusen." They gained fame for their yukata and Edo komon, utilizing unique techniques of Edo dyeing, and their story was even depicted in the world of Kabuki. The current head is also working on recreating Noh costumes, patterns, Shosoin patterns, and the creations of Sotatsu and Korin, inherited from the previous generation. Chikusen's yukata are made using only the paper patterns and intuition of craftsmen passed down from the Edo and Meiji periods, continuing to produce works that are particular to Edo. Their spirit is shown in the character "鑑" (kan), which has strict meanings such as "model" and "expert," and the words "竺仙鑑製" (Chikusen Kansei) are dyed on the mouth of the fabric. *Please refrain from purchasing if you have any doubts, as there are no Chikusen tags, etc. The garment is tailored with a heartfelt "hand-sewn" construction that fits the body well and is easy to move in. It includes a "ishiki-ate" (seat panel) to cover the sheerness of what you wear underneath, prevent sweat and dirt from directly staining the kimono, reduce stress on the seams of the back and the fabric around the hips, and make the back look beautiful.
