While there is some damage, I believe it is in relatively good condition. It is thought to be from the early Showa era. The red lining, made of beni-kinu (red silk), is vibrant and undamaged. The outer fabric has noticeable and less noticeable damage. Please refer to photos 17-19. Due to its age, there are tiny holes, threads coming loose from the gold thread embroidery, and broken embroidery threads. The outline is stitched with white thread, perhaps someone started to embroider it but stopped halfway... Even so, considering it's a kimono from this era, I think it's in beautiful condition and quite gorgeous. Perhaps it was a furisode with long sleeves, worn with a maru-obi for a wedding, and later the sleeves were shortened to make it a tomesode for a married woman... This is an antique, used item, so please understand that there may be some stains and fold wrinkles. Please refrain from purchasing if you are looking for perfection or are overly sensitive.
