REPLAY LABO × Joji Kodama Resin Art Dog Figurine While tidying up my grandmother's house, I came across this piece. I thought it was just a dog figurine... but it was imbued with a story and the breath of art. This work was created by Joji Kodama of REPLAY LABO, who, while making surfboards, dripped excess resin, layering chance and sensibility to create each piece. Although made from waste materials, the colors and flow possess a unique beauty, silently speaking of "regeneration" and "creation." The material is resin. The surface retains the traces of the flowing resin, a characteristic that gives it the feel of "unintentional art." Its appearance, which subtly changes with the way light hits it, enriches the space quietly, even though it is a figurine. Regarding the condition, it has been stored at my grandmother's house for many years, so there is some dust and signs of aging. I would be happy to pass it on to someone who appreciates it as a work of art. A quiet art piece at the boundary of reuse and creation. I hope it will gently accompany someone's everyday life.
