Founded in Bordeaux, France in 1845 by Jules Vieillard, it was one of the ceramic manufacturers that gained high acclaim in France in the late 19th century. The kiln closed at the end of the 1800s, and since it only existed for a short period (about 60 years), the number of items produced was small, and few remain. There are almost no cutlery scratches and no feeling of use. Fine crazing can be seen. It is in very beautiful condition overall.
