It's wonderful that Mozart's late masterpiece, "Divertimento in E-flat major, K. 563," is included. Grumiaux's masterful handling of long melodic lines greatly contributes to the development of a refined ensemble, and beautiful music can be heard throughout the entire performance. K. 563 is called a Divertimento, but it might be easier to understand the composition if it were called a string trio. It is performed by a violin, viola, and cello. Composed a month and a half after the completion of Symphony No. 41 "Jupiter," it is a masterpiece from Mozart's late period. With a large-scale structure of six movements, it is a masterpiece that conveys the elegance and transparency of Mozart's late style. The 6th movement, in particular, is a beloved melody sometimes called "the smiles of angels." Among Mozart's lesser-known works, the duos ② and ③ are the most fulfilling and wonderful. Of course, the trio ① is also wonderful, but the duos ② and ③ for violin and viola, which you probably don't hear very often, showcase Mozart's genius and are even more beautiful and elegant.
