A pottery jar from Onta, used to store salted ayu (sweetfish) innards (uruka). Onta-yaki pottery is made in Onta Village. It has various uses, such as storing seasonings, furikake, and pickled plums. Country of origin: Japan (Oita Prefecture) I purchased and used this jar about 5 years ago, but it has been stored in a cupboard for the past two years, so I am offering it for sale. There are no noticeable stains or chips, but please refrain from purchasing if you are looking for a new item or are overly concerned about condition.
