This is a "Kohagi Ningyo" doll purchased in Hagi City during the Showa era. It is housed in a glass case, but it has faded somewhat due to its age. Case size: Approximately 14.5cm wide x 11.5cm deep x 20.0cm high ● History of Kohagi Ningyo Kohagi Ningyo originated in the early Showa era as small dolls, about 5-10cm tall, made by women in Hagi. After World War II, it was adopted as a women's vocational training project, and 40-50 women were involved in making Kohagi Ningyo. It became a representative souvenir of Hagi and was sold throughout the country and exported to the United States, but currently, there are almost no successors. The dolls' faces are made of cloth, which is unique to Kohagi Ningyo worldwide, and it is also the origin of doll artist Jusaburo Tsujimura's doll making.
