It retains its original form, and is full of impact. You can see the remaining stone skin and sparkling grains. While organizing my grandfather's house, I found his handmade suzuri stones and suzuri plates. He used to make suzuri as one of his hobbies in his later years, using the Soryu Stone (★) he had stored. These were made by my grandfather, who was a master of stone stacking, while enjoying himself. I think he had a good eye for stones. I think my grandfather would be happy if I could pass them on to those who like them or who are going to make suzuri. Soryu Stone is no longer mined now. (★) This is Soryu Stone (Araya Stone) mined in Shimonokae, Tosashimizu City. In the 1970s, the first Issui of Nakamura Suzuri requested my grandfather and father to quarry the stone with heavy machinery, and they accompanied him. Issui's family and ours are related. As it is a natural stone, there are also chips and scratches. Please refrain from purchasing if you are looking for perfection.
