I purchased a kimono at a recycle shop, unpicked it, washed it (in a washing machine with detergent for delicate items), and ironed it before remaking it into a cache-coeur dress. The material is unknown. The back of the collar is attached with iron-on tape, instead of being hand-stitched. Stains, creases, and sun damage from when I purchased it remain.
