It was acquired from an antique dealer who also exhibits at the Mejiro Collection. The exposed clay foot has a flavor reminiscent of Karatsu ware, despite being Mino ware, and I couldn't resist it. Although there are glaze irregularities in the interior and repairs to the rim, the deep bowl shape and the glaze with its subtle crackle lines are, I believe, suitable for a matcha bowl. It is a piece that is worth looking at just by placing it there.
