Complete six-volume set of "Honcho Toki Koshō" by Tokusui Kanamori, published by Hōbei Hayashi (Rinbunsendo), exclusive sales by Aoki Suzando Honten, Meiji 27 (1894) This is a complete six-volume set of "Honcho Toki Koshō" published in 1894 (Meiji 27) by Rinbunsendo (Hōbei Hayashi) in Kyoto. It is a woodblock edition of the private publication "Honcho Toki Koshō" written in 1857 (Ansei 4) by Tokusui Kanamori, a chief retainer of the Kuno family of Tamaru Castle in Ise Province, Kishu Domain. Tokusui Kanamori followed the tenth generation of the Omotesenke school, Sōsa Kikōsai, to master the secrets of the tea ceremony. In addition to this book, he has written "Kokon Sawa" and "Naraigoto Jūsan-kajō Daishō-shō Furoku," among others. In this book, he recommends Zhu Liting's "Tao Shuo" from the Qing dynasty for Chinese ceramics. He also had a friendship with the eleventh generation of the Raku family, Keinyu, and selected the "Chōjirō Shichishu" himself, which is included in the fifth volume of this book. The outlines of each volume are as follows, and it can be seen that a lot of information about ceramics and kilns from various countries, including excavated items, was circulated in the late Edo period. Volume 1: Kokuyaki (domestic kilns) and Oniwaki (kilns of the imperial court) Volume 2: Kokuyaki and miscellaneous records Volume 3: Re-recording of "Tōki Kō" (Ceramics Study) and "Tōki Kō Furoku" (Ceramics Study Supplement) and Yamagoe Oboegaki (Notes from Yamagoe) Volume 4: Meibutsu Chaire Ippan (General Information on Famous Tea Caddies) Volume 5: Raku-yaki Ippan (General Information on Raku Ware) Volume 6: Miscellaneous records The illustrations on the cover are by the author and depict Haniwa (clay figurines), tiles, and pottery excavated from places such as the Temmu and Jitō Imperial Mausoleums and the site of Musashi Kokubun-ji Temple. ■Condition■ The cover has some light stains. The paper is surprisingly clean, considering it was published over 130 years ago. (Please refer to the photos) This is a used book.
